Here we go again. I call it ‘Nutty November’. For me it starts with 4 members of my family having birthdays in the first week, then it’s full on to Christmas.
Christmas fairs are everywhere at this time of year and over the past 25 years I have taken a stand at many of them with mixed degrees of success. I really enjoy the banter with the other exhibitors and have huge admiration for the hardened Christmas fair exhibitor who travels the length and breadth of the country living out of a suitcase for the whole of November. Lugging boxes of stock into exhibition halls at the crack of dawn. Then reloading the van after the event, usually in the dark, to drive off to the next venue.
I have decided to keep my traveling to a minimum and will be joining 2 very local events, both of which have been organised by the most wonderful and creative of women.

Far from the madding Crowd’ Christmas Fair in The Guildhall Hadleigh IP7 5DN
21st-22nd November
Organised by two wonderful sisters Holly and Jess who also run ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ creative workshops from Holly’s home in Leavenheath. With their personal connection to artists and makers their Christmas fair promises to showcase a unique collection of gifts.

Nedging Hall Christmas Fair
5th & 6th December
This is the first year of Nedging Hall Christmas fair organised by Harriet Buckle, in the barn at Nedging Hall – IP7 7HG.
With Harriet’s many years of working with The Boule-In she will be bring them back to Suffolk alongside others offering home furnishing treasures and Christmas delights.
Both events will be very special, presented with artistic flair and thoughtful consideration given to the quality of the stall holders and the products on offer.
I have been busy in my sewing room making cushions and other thing out of beautiful old rugs that are no longer fit for use on the floor. I will be bringing lots of rugs, kilims, stools, cushions and other textile treasures that I hope will make special Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

I look forward to seeing you at one of these events. If you are unable to get there you can always find me (well my stock and me, by appointment) in the
Melford Antiques & Interiors Centre, Long Melford CO10 9JA
The centre is open 7 days a week and there are always helpful staff to help you dig deep into the piles of rugs.
With my very best wishes,
Sara
