To everyone who attended The Rug Festival & Sale at the beginning of the month, I send you a huge thank you.
We were lucky that the weather stayed dry but during the week the biting wind caused me to put my winter boots on again.
However, the event was a huge success. You visited from far and wide and enjoyed the stunning display of rugs in the delightful array of traditional tents. Lots of Nicola’s wonderful cakes and refreshments were consumed and many meals had at The Crown. The whole of the sleepy village of Bildeston, including the village shop, benefited from your visit so a massive thank you.
You loved the pop up Gainsborough Fabric shop and I plan to host that again.
The evening soiree with Baha Yetkin was magical.
His music and historical stories of the Oud had us transported to the east, with its bustling bazars and coffee shops open late into the night, the intoxicating smell of spices wafting from the noisy cafes and exotic rugs and textiles hanging from the windows and balconies of dealers, trying to tempt you in.
Please don’t forget that you can always see a good selection of stock on my website or at the Melford Antique & Interiors Centre where
I’m very happy to meet you there, but please call first.
I also love searching the markets to find what you are looking for so do get in touch if you are looking for something specific.
Until next time thank you again.
Sara
